Privacy
Information under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003). Last updated: 15 October 2026. This is a translation for information: the Italian text is authoritative.
In brief
- The site uses no cookies, no traffic analytics, shows no advertising and does not track its readers.
- Videos and audio are served directly by this site: watching or listening sends no data to external platforms.
- We process personal data only if you write to us, and only to reply.
Data controller
Francesco Medici, owner of the Vox Publica project. Contact for any privacy matter: contatti@vox-publica.it. No data protection officer (DPO) has been appointed, as none of the cases in which one is mandatory applies.
What data we process and why
Browsing data. For technical and security reasons, the hosting provider records connection data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type. We do not use them to identify visitors or for statistics. Legal basis: legitimate interest in the security and operation of the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: for the technical periods set by the hosting provider.
Emails and messages. If you write to us, we use your address and the content of your message to reply and, if you report a mistake or request a correction, to handle the request. Legal basis: your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in handling corrections and disputes (point (f)). Retention: up to 24 months from the last exchange, then deletion; longer only if needed to defend a right in court.
Tips and documents. If you send us documents or testimony, we use them only to check the facts. We do not publish personal data of private individuals without their consent; anyone who writes to us as a source may ask to remain anonymous.
Cookies and tracking
No cookies, technical or profiling, no pixels, no traffic analytics. This is why the site shows no cookie banner. Fonts and videos are served directly by this site.
Language
If your browser is set to another language and the page exists in that language, a notice at the top offers it to you. The comparison takes place in your browser: nothing is sent to us or stored, and no cookie is set.
Share buttons and links
The WhatsApp, Telegram, email, Facebook, X and LinkedIn buttons are plain links: no data is sent to those services until you use them. After the click, and on the external sites we cite as sources, the privacy notices of their respective controllers apply.
Social media profiles
Vox Publica has social media profiles, starting with Instagram. If you follow us, comment or write to us there, your data is also processed by the platform, under its own privacy notice. For the aggregate statistics the platform provides to professional profiles, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. and the controller act as joint controllers under the agreement drawn up by Meta, which assumes the main obligations towards users. We do not import data from social media onto the site and do not use it to profile you. Offensive, discriminatory or unlawful comments may be removed.
Who processes data on our behalf
Aruba S.p.A. (hosting and email), as processor, with servers in the European Union. We do not transfer data outside the European Union; social media platforms may do so under their own privacy notices and the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Security
The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the mailbox and the hosting is protected and restricted to the controller.
Other information
We carry out no profiling and no automated decision-making. Writing to us is optional: without your data we simply cannot reply. The site is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You may at any time, by writing to contatti@vox-publica.it, ask:
- whether we process your data and to receive a copy (access, Article 15);
- to correct it (rectification, Article 16) or erase it (Article 17);
- to restrict its processing (Article 18) or to object (Article 21);
- to receive it in a readable format (portability, Article 20).
We reply within one month, as provided by the GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or with the supervisory authority of the EU country where you live or work.
