About
Vox Publica. On the proper use of Italy.
Vox Publica was founded in June 2026 to talk about Italy’s public problems without beating about the bush: what is not working, who decides, what could change. It does so with four tools.
Dossier
One topic, all the papers. Every dossier reconstructs amounts and rules from primary documents only: budgets, legislation, official records. Every number has its year and its source; our own calculations are marked as such; every change is recorded in the update log at the end of the dossier. The first one is “The Cost of Power”.
The numbers
One figure, its source, the link to the full story. The numbers are the same verified ones we use in our dossiers, editorials and on social media.
Editorials
They are opinions, and they say so. They take a position and do not hide indignation when the facts justify it. Every figure quoted comes with its source, listed at the end of the page, so that anyone can check it. For now the editorials are published in Italian.
Ma dico io and Salvo
Salvo is the spokesman of Vox Publica. In the episodes of Ma dico io (in Italian) he tells a story in a minute, using the words of our texts; the full transcript of each episode is published on the site. Salvo is an animated character and the videos are made with artificial intelligence.
Method
- Facts are kept separate from opinions, and opinions are declared.
- Every figure has a verifiable source.
- Mistakes are corrected openly: the corrected page says so.
- No advertising, no cookies, no tracking of readers.
Use of artificial intelligence
- Salvo and Dentifricio are fictional characters. The images, animation and voice of the videos are generated with artificial intelligence tools; every video says so.
- The texts (editorials, video scripts) are written, checked and approved by the editorial team, which holds editorial responsibility for them. AI tools may be used to support research and revision, never to publish without human control.
- Audio versions (“Listen”) are read by a synthetic voice, generated with an open model (Kokoro) on our own computers: the text is not sent to external services.
- Translations, such as this page, are produced with the help of artificial intelligence and checked figure by figure against the Italian original. The Italian text is authoritative.
- We do not publish AI-generated images, videos or voices depicting real people.
- On social media, AI-generated content is labelled as such.
Corrections
If a fact we report is wrong, we correct it on the page and state the correction. Anyone who believes they have been represented inaccurately can request a correction at contatti@vox-publica.it: we reply and, if the request is well founded, we publish the correction with the same prominence.
